Reviewer Guidelines

Reviewers are invited by Section Editors to assess technical clarity, factual reliability, claims quality, and educational value of submitted manuscripts. Reviewer participation is an important mechanism for checking academic credibility.

1. Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers evaluate submissions against the following core parameters:

• Scope: Is the topic relevant to the assigned NiviScholar Insights series?
• Clarity: Is the writing understandable, well-structured, and accessible to a broad academic audience?
• Evidence: Are the assertions sufficiently supported by literature citations, data tables, or general facts?
• Technical Elements: Are equations, tables, figures, and methodology descriptions correct and clearly labeled?
• Originality: Does the article represent genuine synthesis or observation (free from plagiarism or duplicate texts)?
• Ethical Standards: Are there signs of citation manipulation, conflicts of interest, or unacknowledged generative tools?

2. Reviewer Conduct Code

• Accept an assignment only when you have suitable subject expertise and can complete it on schedule.
• Disclose any potential conflicts of interest to the editor before beginning the review.
• Maintain confidentiality: do not share, distribute, or reuse unpublished manuscript drafts.
• Write specific, constructive, and professionally framed feedback.
• Clearly separate comments intended for authors from confidential notes for the editors.

3. Recommendation States

Reviewers submit one of the following decisions:

• Accept: Ready for publication after standard copyediting.
• Minor Revisions: Requires minor corrections, reference updates, or structural polishing.
• Major Revisions: Requires substantial content revision, additional data, or deeper reasoning.
• Reject: Out of scope, factually incorrect, or lacks ethical integrity.
